The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (DSACT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization
committed to
spreading awareness and
educating its membership
and the general public about
all issues associated with
Down syndrome. This is
accomplished by the
development of activities and programs that promote inclusion and acceptance
of people with Down syndrome in our community.
Formerly the Down Syndrome Support Group of
Central Texas, the group was renamed in 2003.
We serve families of children, teens, and adults
with Down syndrome as well as interested
professionals and an affiliate of the
National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) and
the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC).
Committees meet once a month to define,
develop, and implement our programs and
activities. Program ideas are presented to the
Board of Directors at their monthly meetings for
approval. The Board is also responsible for the
strategic plan and yearly budget. We hope you find our website and organization helpful to you and your family.
